Why do the police get free travel on the buses?
Our policemen and women are not poorly paid. They are probably one of
the best paid professionals who don't need a university degree. Yet
they travel free on most public transport systems. Even Ian Blair,
the boss of the Met on his £250K salary presumably can travel for free
all over London by public transport if he wants to even when not on
duty.

If we are going to extend the perk of free public transport to the
police, it should also be available to other hard working public
servants like nurses, teachers, social workers, home helps,
secretaries etc.

I can't understand the logic behind it.
