But it ISN'T every passenger that is carrying shopping I have seen
maybe two dozen passengers fail to take tickets since the free passes
where introduced back in April .

But not all councils are alike regarding the way revenue to the bus
companies is paid some it seems pay a set sum of money each month
to bus companies while others like ours pay pr length of journey made
pr pass no ticket issued no money is paid . Likewise if a driver
issues a ticket from a to B and passenger goes to c company is only
paid to B and if a driver issues a ticket from a to z and the
passenger only goes to B then the driver is making more revenue for
the company and defrauding the relevant council tax payer .
I asked an inspector about this only yesterday and he confirmed the
above is correct in Lancashire anyway.
The one thing that I see that takes up a lot of drivers time are these
women who are not content to have simple fold up buggies for their
kids they have to have damned great juggernauts and the driver is left
sitting there with engine belching out CO2 while she struggles on to
the bus with the thing then fumbles in some compartment or other in
the buggie for her purse . She then has to put it away struggle
getting the buggie into the space provided for wheelchairs AND buggies
taking up ALL of the space with just her one buggie and you know she
just doesn't give a damn about how long she has kept myself and others
sitting there probably making us late for appointments or connections.
Hell I have had as many as six of the old fold up type buggies under
the stairs on the old back loader deckers you couldn't get one of the
modern juggernauts under there .

For the last time Ron the system in use here has NOTHING to do with any
COUNCIL. Please stop going on about councils, it may work that way where
you are but not here.

Ivor it may not be the same in your IMMEDIATE area but other councils
besides Lancashire require tickets to be issued well not so much
tickets issued but specific journey details of pass holders free
journeys which bus companies expect COUNCILS and ultimately council
tax payers to pay for .
Ivor please stop trying to say that all councils are as free and easy
with tax payers money has your council is or did you not know that
it IS council tax payers money that is paying for the passes, if you
do not believe me ask your local councilor or your MP even .
