Local authorities never have a problem forking out money
for stupid things that will be thrashed by local vandals. Ours
recently spent God knows how many thousands of tax payers
money on refurbishing three kids play areas one of which has
been more or less rendered useless thanks to local yobs already .
They do not have a problem finding the money for councilors
to go of to some foreign country on the premise of some town
twinning nonsense and there are many other instances of wasting tax
payers money . It seems strange to me Terry that when they are asked
to find money to fund something useful for the elderly of the
community they suddenly have a problem ! .
Plus of course these councilors who are so keen to be doing things for
us and taking upwards of a grand each out of the kitty in the process,
one who happens to be a friend of mine gets over six grand a year
because he holds some position or other in the council chamber and he
isn't the only one getting that sort of money either .
And of course regarding our council there is the matter of new windows
for the council offices not that there is anything wrong with the old
ones except that some are letting in a little wind and the poor
multitude of pen pushers are feeling a little draft when the wind is
in the right direction and it is cooling down their many cups of
coffee during the working day .
I am sorry Terry but the sob story about local councils having to fork
out a bit of money to fund the bus passes just does not hold water
with me in the light of that amount of money councils spend willy
nilly on rubbish .
