It would be easier to answer your question if you punctuation, thus
allowing us lesser mortals to know what the question was.

"...if you punctuation..."? What form of English grammar do you use?

Drunken punctuation at that time of night! Anyway, the fact remains that
I genuinely don't know quite what he was asking.

I do know though that Hyde Road Comms were shouting out for drivers who
know Mayne's routes the other day, but there is no notice saying that
the takeover has been finalised. Still the same one saying that it could
take up to two years.

Okay sorry.
Lets do this properly. Stagecoaches are being used on the Mayne's
routes apparently there being hired in. My question was why are they
being hired in?

A guess but the Stagecoach Manchester website seems to imply that Maynes
will take a number of months to integrate into the Stagecoach operation.
It's possible that the vehicles have to be hired at present because
operating licences or similar have not been transferred. Ticket
acceptance is shown as remaining operator specific rather than the usual
immediate interavailability. There must be some legal complications to
the deal that are not making it very straightforward.

This is all very strange. The other day they were also shouting on the
radio about people parking at - I think - Hyde Road in the space
reserved for Maynes buses and someone on uk.railway mentioned all the
Maynes fleet lines up there on view from the railway viaduct. No idea
what is going on.
