Can you imagine all those vintage coaches milling around with the place
still operational? You'll get them full up with punters thinking they are
off to Skegness.....

Going by the way the letter from National express reads you would
think they had been the owners of the place since day one, I first set
foot in the place as a passenger in a Leyland half cab coach belonging
to Scout Motor Services around July 1950 but National express was not
even thought of in those days, and I actually drove a Leyland Tiger
coach in to there around 1963 for the first time and NI was still not
around.
So just as a matter of interest where in Birmingham are all the
express coach services departing from now?

The last I heard the plans for a new one somewhere near now Hill
Station had fallen through, and they are now going to build the new
one on the same site as the old one, so it would have to close first.

To give NatEx the credit, the newer coach stations they've built (e.g.
Liverpool and Manchester) are very pleasant places. I see no reason
to suggest the new Digbeth would be any different.
