Quiet! ...And when it gets dark/dreary when it's raining etc. I always
use dips, having had 'be safe, be seen' drummed in to me. I never use
side lights, or candles as I prefer to call them as I believe they're
a waste of time.

As someone who had a Volvo for years, I always use dipped headlights. I
just bought a new motorcycle, they come with permanently on headlights as
well now, which is all very well but it can make starting a pain if your
battery is low. Why can't they put a relay in so the lights come on only
once the engine is running..?

As someone who had a Volvo for years, I always use dipped headlights. I
just bought a new motorcycle, they come with permanently on headlights as
well now, which is all very well but it can make starting a pain if your
battery is low. Why can't they put a relay in so the lights come on only
once the engine is running..?

Why can't they make it so the lights drain the battery when the engine
starts than the damned bikes will not pose a danger to other road
users. I am convinced motor cyclists think the speed restriction signs
on the countries roads are purely for decoration , two passed me on
the motorway to day and disappeared out of sight and I was doing 70
mph .
