Don't you mean England Bus & Coach Operators, as counties in Northern
Ireland, Scotland and Wales are conspicuous by their absence!

Not all places are their either. Bristol, which isn't in a county, isn't
on the list.

I always thought Bristol was in Avon, now you learn something everyday lol

Call me a pedant, but Avon was abolished in 1998. For some reason it was
never a well loved institution. Although I never lived there during its
Avon days, IMO it's a shame it's gone. A single body dealing with
Transport, for example, which is the responsibility of County Councils,
would probably help deal with many issues that we have due to the lack
of co-operation between the Unitary Authorities. There has been lots of
talk of late for a PTE or similar body to Transport for London for the
former county of Avon, which has taken on the name Greater Bristol in
many circuits.

There are a few organisations who still insist on a county field on
addresses, and I reguarly get mail with the county as Avon, Bristol,
City of Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Wiltshire.

Bzzt!

"Oh yes it is!"

Bristol was made a County of itself in 1355, lost the status when it
became part of Avon in 1974 and then regained it in 1996.

Oops! I meant, not on the list of counties on that website.

Of particular interest is the fact that a number of the operators
listed have had their licences revoked by their local Traffic
Commissioner and several who are still in business are shown at
addresses they moved from 10 or more years ago!!

Frankly this site is a waste of bandwidth.
