So 20 years on from bus deregulation, how have we fared [1]?

Minus points:

Confusion
Poor  passenger information
Worn out buses worthy of the third world
Bus jams
Poor to non existent evening, Sunday and rural services

Plus points:

Things weren't perfect before and at least some of the above applied 
pre-1986
Big investment in new buses by some of the larger groups
Enhanced services in some corridors
