Of course.

They may have Middle Eastern names but they're both actually British managed 
airlines financed with Arab money and using large modern Middle Eastern 
airports as hubs.  These airports, which belong to the people with the 
money,  would otherwise have next to no customers.

The hub airports charge next to nothing and have vast cheap duty free areas.

The only thing that's slightly odd about them is the food (in European 
terms) which tends to be either Middle Eastern or Indian.
