'My car got the full Audi service (with 27 joyrides included)' .
LOL! This sort of thing must be very worrying for motorists. I mean,
who can you trust?
"When Mark Reece took his car for a routine service, he expected it to
receive professional care and attention.
But when the businessman came to collect his beloved Audi RS4, it was
not exactly in the condition in which he left it.
In fact the £50,000 estate had been driven no fewer than 27 times
while in the care of the registered Audi garage.
On several of these occasions it had been mysteriously racing around
his home town at more than twice the legal speed limit.
The excursions were exposed by a tiny security device fixed to his
car, which records every journey it takes.
'When I got the car back and looked at the log, I couldn't believe
it', said Mr Reece, an internet entrepreneur..."

Nothing new. Nothing interesting.
I'd trust any of them a lot more than I'd trust you to be rational, honest
and reasonable.

We certainly can't trust you not to start threads about cars.

Can't trust you to not start a thread that's anti-motorist, that's for sure.

Duhg, this is not news. This sort of thing has happened ever since cars were
serviced at main dealers! It wasn't me, but when I was an apprentice
mechanic working for Citroen in the late 80s, someone totalled a customers
almost new BX GTi that was in for it's first service doing just what the
chaps in the article were doing

Yawn. Yet another non-story from the daily wail about an everyday ocurrence.
Here's another non-story.
Doug swallows media scaremongering - hook, line and sinker.
Why is it a non-story? Because you do it every day Doug.

Or indeed to deliver reports that he stated he would produce into how a
couple working in different towns can both move to be close enough to
their jobs as not to need cars.

That's obvious. Get new jobs close to each other. ;-)

Well he started it. He abused them in the first place by using a
service to get 11 days free airport parking.

I know the local NSU dealer would take RO80's out for a thrash - it
cleaned the plugs.
There are a number of diagnostic tests that do require the mechanic to
"drive the car". Things like checking fuel pressure under load. Though
I'd hope the better shops use a rolling road.
