Actually, that second pic looks a bit like Duhg with long hair and
boobs.
I really need to go get some mind bleach now. :-/

This is called walking the walk - unlike the talking the talk Duhg does...

Why do you blame me for posting off topic threads when you keep on
doing so yourself, hypocrite?

The differences are that I don't do it almost every day and I mark such
threads as being off topic.
Now, what's your opinion of this lady's efforts?

My opinion is this is just another example of 'virtually zero carbon
output' aka 'carbon neutral' greenwash. I think it a great shame that
people who do make something of an effort to reduce their energy
consumption and pollution have to try to pretend that they are very
much better than they really are.
Interesting that it doesn't say how she gets to the supermarkets,
living as she does in 'the tiny West Sussex parish of Steyning'. Any
guesses?

There's a supermarket in the village, so, just a wild guess mind, she walks.
Isn't this a typical Doug reaction? Rather than appplaud this lady for
achieving that which Doug says he wants everyone to, he has to pour scorn
and doubt on her efforts.
A truly sick man.

"I hardly buy anything from supermarkets as I grow my own veg.
I suspect the amount she buys, she could easily walk, or even cycle
without needing a trailer.
Do you hate her because she is greener than your, and make you look
bad?
or because she is fit and healthy when you are not?
or because she is not a "vegan" like you?
or is there another reason?

How odd, she lives fairly close to where I live and has adopted the same
measures to make her home carbon neutral. And how unsurprising that Doug
"I do nothing to improve the carbin footprint of my home" Bollen should
spit out his venom at this woman for setting an example that he will not
follow.
I pay an extra £200 a year for my electricity to ensure that it is
produced from hydro electricity. Doug buys his from the cheapest,
dirtiest producer. That shows just how deep his commitment goes.

Because he has no answer. He lives a polluting lifestyle in a polluted
city. He makes no attempt to live to the standards that he wishes to
impose on others.

Duhg lives by the Bollenist creed: "Do as I say, not as I do."

So let me get this straight. If someone doesn't do anything to reduce
their environmental impact, you attack them (as evidenced by your
rantings on this group). And if someone does something to reduce
their environmental impact ... you attack them.

AOL.
This episode (others like it) gives an interesting insight into
Gollum's "mind". Recently, you mentioned that Gollum once admitted
that he views any disagreement with him as a personal attack (can you
post a link, if you have it?). When people do agree with him,
however, he twists and turns in order to find a reason to disagree
with them.
This shows that he is one seriously fucked up old turd. How does
someone end up like that?

If "small" means "can accommodate circa 7.5 million people plus visitors"
then yes it will be small.

I'll see if I can find the link. I really don't obsessively archive all

I'm sure you don't! Like me, though, I think you have a good memory
and can remember roughly what was said and when. Which gives one
something of an advantage over Gollum, who has forgotten by the end of
a post what he wrote at the beginning.

Very interesting, thanks for that.
The part about not realising that an NG doesn't function like a real group
tells much about his attitude. The fact that he treats anyone different to
him as a group to be attacked is also revealed in that missive. What a shame
he's forgotten the lesson and is thus doomed to repeat it, as he is here.

carry on doing exactly as we see fit.
Nice work, Duhg. How close is Vince's report to being completed, by the
way? You're at least eight months past your own deadline now.

Not only that but any criticism of PT at all - like talking about how it
can be unreliable - is knocking PT.

The story is quite convoluted. He was "invited" to drop into demon.local
by a regular with a reputation for stirring up trouble - a woman who had
a silly game of flirting with men to see what their reaction was, and
mocking the men in email to others and on IRC. Her tactic seemed to be
to send them erotic poetry and to indulge in titilating email
interchanges, which the poor dears took as a promise of delights to
come.
She flattered Duhg's ego and asked him into d.l. to take on the "cabal"
of regular posters. Her behaviour was (to me) extraordinary she seemed
to get a buzz out of getting various people to fall for her, then
dropped them unceremoniously in public so that she could get a rush out
of watching them self-destruct.
Some behind the scenes email then went on and she was "shopped" by
someone disgusted with her behaviour. Once she had been outed she was
asked to get rid of her latest pet and she asked to Duhg to stop posting
to the group, which he did. No one, AFAIK asked for the apology but it
looks as if the love-smitten Duhg offered one voluntarily.
He wasn't alone BTW, I can recall several individuals falling for the
woman in question and doing some quite ridiculous things in order to
secure her affection/attention. It resulted in a number of flounces from
d.l and some extremely nasty interchanges between individuals. Duhg
simply walked into something he didn't understand and was ill equipped
to cope with.

You're welcome.

There's something much more telling in that "apology".
"If you ever need any advice on how to run a group mail me,
but no flames mind and excuse the lack of sig :)"
Read it in context with the rest of the post and it's clear that Duhg
considered that newsgroups were "groups" with a committee a chairman,
and some form of formal constitution. Hence his comment about "real
groups" and his self-preening obout "game-play" and "self analysis".
Duhg reveals a lot about himself here. Firstly despite his ranting about
anarchism, he's making it clear that he can only function in terms of
committees and rules. He also sees only one natural position for
himself, as the great leader. His comment:
"Of course I wanted to assert myself and be recognised, its only
natural."
Gives away his intention to be dominant within a group. And the whole
"apology" makes it clear that he's one of those loathsome individuals
who join groups not to get things done, but to play petty politics of
dominance. In short, as far from "anarchist" as one could be.

Was he still using the name Bollen in his posts at this point?

He was using Bollen (db@noid.dcu) but quickly changed to Doug
(db@noid.dcu) then Doug (par@noid.dcu). He had also used various
combinations of Doug, Doug Bollen, Gingerbread and other alises in
combination with lonepar.demon.co.uk, noid.dcu, ginger.dcu.
