Why would I not comment on it? I've said all along that wind power is
nothing but greenwash. This report only confirm what I've been saying
for years. The idea that cars can run on electricity is just another
sop to irresponsible killer motorist terrorists.

This is hardly news. The same points were made here to Duhng and Dave
"Dynamo" Hansen. Hansen dismissed them with an airy wave of his hand and
used the same "justification" of claiming that if there are sufficient
turbines it's always windy somewhere. It's not true, it's never been
true. If windpower is to stand a chance it must have backup power
systems of equal capacity. Gas for quick and cheap, pump storage hydro
for a somewhat cleaner approach.
Nuclear is still the better option, other than politically.

I will. Wind turbines should be part of a package which aims to reduce
energy consumption, and its consequent pollution, from all sources
while replacing non-renewable with renewable.

So yet another change of direction. In the past you've condemned renewable
energy as greenwash.

You are both liars and terrible impersonators. I have never opposed
wind power. Wind power is still greener than using gas alone. Read
the article! It doesn't say that wind power realeases more CO2 than
fossil power, only that is releases more than previously expected. The
motorists who infest and dominate this newsgroup are always looking
for pathetic excuses to continue polluting the earth.

Oh, and I forgot to add: Of course wind alone is not enough. It should
be part of a mix of different renewables. That's how fluctuations can
be dealt with.

All is revealed in the instruction manual:
Congratulations on choosing the Duhg-a-Tron, which is guaranteed to
provide years of knowledge-free posting, as long as its taxpayer-funded
maintenance programme is followed religiously.
The top-of-the-range Duhg-a-Tron was originally developed on a Jupiter
Ace home computer and includes the following functions:
* the posting of kneejerk responses such as "Liar!", "Hypocrite!", "Pot!
Kettle!" and "Wrong again, as usual" when a Usenet contributor posts
something a little too close to the truth for the Duhg-a-Tron's comfort.
* the mindless copying and pasting of entire car-related articles,
usually from the Daily Mail, onto Usenet. The current Duhg-a-Tron model
lacks the capability of understanding the articles it pastes, so it
often displays the feature of contradicting its own argument for the
additional amusement of Usenet readers.
* a crude form of binary logic in which "good" and "bad" versions of a
given substance or phenomenon are deemed to exist, so that anything
which serves the Duhg-a-Tron's interests is "good" and the converse is
"bad".
* the deployment of an array of logical fallacies including "tu quoque",
ad hominem attacks and appeal to authority.
* repeated denial of any connection with the Duhg-a-Tron's rumoured
creator, who is credited with authoring an article about the Jupiter
Ace: http://www.jupiter-ace.co.uk/hardware_ace_inteface.html
The Duhg-a-Tron's maintenance regime includes being housed at the
taxpayer's expense and powered by exotic foodstuffs flown in from other
parts of the world.
==========================================
Known issues: the Duhg-a-Tron has been posting to Usenet for at least 14
years and its failing memory and reasoning powers are now in an advanced
state (indeed, these are the only aspects of the Duhg-a-Tron that could
honestly be described as "advanced"). There is no known solution to
these issues and it must be borne in mind that the Duhg-a-Tron exceeded
its useful life some time ago.
