Abandoned cars
Not content with putting lives at risk, wrecking the environment and
causing massive inconvenience to the general public, motorists are now
dumping their cars in ever increasing numbers due to a drop in scrap
metal
prices.

And who has to pay to clear up this mess? Not the motorist concerned
nor
the motor manufacturer but the hapless taxpayer.

Without a Link its hard to comment however last time I checked ( which
was last year) the scrap value of cars was quite high.

Scrap value has rocketed in the last few years. It's £160 /tonne where my
brother lives.

Aha. You have just exposed yourself. If you were the real Doug Bollen
you wouldn't have written "imposter". I aways spell that word
"impostor". Check my record on Usenet if you want. Who is the real

You are now definitely a blithering idiot. That story must be at least
18 months old because currently scrap prices are at an all time high.

I think the DougWars are rather amusing. I particularly like the way
Real Doug Bollen (who denies being Doug Bollen) is using this in an
attempt to further his pathetic claims not to be Doug Bollen.

But which of those currently posting as Doug or Doug Bollen is the real Doug
Bollen? It couldn't possibly be the one who rants and raves at the world
around him, especially about cars, as he says he's not Doug Bollen and that
he never tells lies.

Similar thought struck me in present circumstances (hereabouts anyway) of
people touring the area every few weeks blagging scrap cars and breaker
yards having to part with a decent amount of cash for same driven to the
gates.

Yes but aren't secondhand car prices down, which leads to even more
abandoned cars? They are everywhere, often burnt out and cluttering
the countryside, along with their bits like tyres and chunks of metal
and plastic.

Why would someone abandon something they can get money for Doug?

Wrong again (or is that "still"). I can't remember the last time I saw a
truly abandoned car

This explains why the Jamaican goverment has banned the scrap metal
business, since prices have gone so high they are scared all their
infrastructure will end up being weighed in...

Nope. Never seen it. Plenty of abandoned cars burned out after being
stolen by joyriders probably drunk on cheap alcohol. But no properly
abandoned cars...
