Frivolous hypermobility
I discovered a website where a group of social misfits boast about their
frivolous hypermobility, spending every weekend travelling without
purpose, burning up precious fossil fuel to transport themselves and
their vehicles from London to some part of the countryside where, it
seems, they take a great deal but put nothing back.

I'm sure Doug will join with me in condemning these frivolously
hypermobile individuals who bomb around the countryside when they should
be staying in the city. As Doug has told us, anyone in the countryside
uses more precious resources than the selfless individuals who live in
cities. So there's no need for any sensible person to visit the country.

Its only frivolous hypermobility if they use a train and it isn't if
they are self-powered. You seem confused about what I have said in the
past regarding rural and city life. It is mass car use and its tourism
that has ruined rural life and hardly applies to visits by a few
cyclists. Do you understand now?

As Steve (I taught Richard Burton and Jackie Stewart all they know) has now
started talking about all his homes all around the world I'm guessing it
won't be long before his fuse blows :)

Tourists and incomers change any area they travel to. It's utter hypocrisy
to pretend that the mode of transport makes even the slightest difference.

The majority of examples on that website involve travel by train.

See above, to quote Duhg Gollum.

Not at all, I can recall all of your condemnations of those who live in
the country and your frequent statements that they shoudl all move to
the city. However since 90% of the UK population already lives in
cities, I'm bemused why you think the rest of us should jam into the rat
cages then travel out to work each day.

How odd, the major problem at weekends in this part of the country is
the huge influx of cylists who appear by train and by car and who then
clutter up the roads and put nothing into the economy since they can't
carry much home and they are too mean to stay in local hotels or B&Bs.

I understand that your usual double standards apply.

Do you understand now?

BTW, any chance you could keep your ugly, socially inept mates inside
the city? They seem to spend far too much time visiting areas around my
home.

Remember that whereas anything Gollum does is acceptable, anything
that Gollum either doesn't want to do, or can't do, is unacceptable.
When Gollum wanted to drive, driving an SUV was fine. Now he doesn't
want to drive, it isn't.

So all we need to do is wait until Gollum is too decrepit to cycle
(which can't be far away, judging by those pics we have seen), and
then you'll see him ranting on about "frivolously hypermobile
cyclists". In fact, give it sufficient time, and he'll be ranting
against anything other than pissing oneself, whilst sitting in a
wheelchair and being spoonfed vegan slop in a filthy London flat.
