You're implying that a cyclist has a brain cell?

Can anybody help me here.
I seem to remember somebody posting to this group saying that cyclists
should be allowed to ride on station platforms.
I seem to recall it was pointed out to him that such a thing was
dangerous.
Not sure but it is possible that he replied with 'liar' & 'evidence'
I can't recall the name of said person, but I believe he was fron

Maybe this was Doug on a day out, after all he said that riding bicycles on
station platforms was perfectly safe.

It's ironic, it's slightly interesting, but really, it's not funny.

There's making silly mistakes which we all do but those that make the

If the cyclist had been about 11, I could agree with you to an extent.
40 year-old-men *know* you're not allowed to cycle on or onto railway
platforms (not least because of the risk they would pose to innocent
third parties).
Given that, I can see why some people think it is funny. It wasn't a
tragic accident that could have just happened to anybody - this man
caused his own problems.
Just let's thank God that no-one innocent was killed or injured -
especially when we see how severe an injury can be caused by landing on
(or being thrown onto) the live rail that they use down there.

Its typical of the "I'm a cyclist so the rules don't apply to me"

Now come along. Sainthood isn't something you bear lightly, especially

In uk.legal.moderated there's the interesting view of a cyclist
attempting to spin on a sixpence as he falls back on the favourite
fallacy of "tu quoque" by saying that motorists break the law, as a
justification for red-light ignoring cyclists. He then repeats ad
infinitum that "two wrongs don't make a right" and then continues to
point the finger at motorists to excuse cyclists.
It's bizarre, as if there's a huge scotoma in their field of vision.

I used to work with one of the luminaries of the CTC. He made Dhug look
sane. Another vegan with fluorescent fish-belly skin, he was famously
involved in a road accident in London (which several witnesses
identified as his fault) while on his cycle. When he was taken to
hospital his recovery lasted for months because of his poor state of
nutrition and because he refused all vitamin supplements on the grounds
that they were "unnatural". I googled his name and I see his still alive
and still a leading light at the CTC, so I can understand why their
ideas are still off the wall.

Well, it was clearly the railway's fault for being there. Surely the
rail companies should have had the foresight when they built the thing
about 150 years ago that some fuckwit on two wheels might ride into it?
