An ominous warning that the rapid rise in oil prices has only just
begun
This should reduce their hypermobility a bit. Note the reference to
'the world's faltering supply', for those here who continue to insist
there is an abundance of oil.
"The chief executive of the world's largest energy company has issued
the most dire warning yet about the soaring the price of oil,
predicting that it will hit $250 per barrel "in the foreseeable
future".
The forecast from Alexey Miller, the head of the Kremlin-owned gas
giant Gazprom, would herald the arrival of £2-per-litre petrol and
send shockwaves through the economy. His comments were the most stark
to be expressed by an industry executive and come just days after the
oil price registered its largest-ever single-day spike, hitting
$139.12 per barrel last week amid fears that the world's faltering
supply will be unable to keep up with demand..."

You are an arse, aren't you? Can't you tell self-promotion and bigging it up
when you see it? He only has self-interest in mind saying this, and is

Newspaper reporters are no better at understanding source documents than you
are.

Translation: The head of a major earner for a country with a depressed

Gosh, thanks for that, Gollum. Tomorrow, exclusively from Doug - the
head of Ford predicts that they will sell more motor vehicles "in the
foreseeable future". And the Pope predicts that he will still be
Catholic "in the foreseeable future".
I don't know what we'd do without Doug "the oracle" Bollen.

And as some oil producing nations have said, the price of oil would be
much more stable if it were priced in Euros rather than Dollars. The
Dollar is in trouble - and the speculators are leaving the housing
market and buying up oil futures like theirs no tomorrow. This is a
financial thing not a supply / customer based thing. Stop crowing Duhg.

Is that like chapter 11 but one worse?
From wikipedia:
Chapter 12 refers to Chapter 12 of Title 11 of the United States Code,
a chapter of the Bankruptcy Code. This chapter of the Bankruptcy Code
is available only to family farmers and fishermen in certain
situations.

All my dollar suppliers have now converted to pricing in euro, which means I
will have to start putting prices up for the first time since late 2005.

I was surprised at that. Neither I nor anyone I have spoken to could reduce

where I live..

Yebbut, there's an awful lot of people who will use the car to go half a
mile or so and back (i.e.nip to the local shop to get a a pint of milk,
packet of fags etc) which uses a disproportionate anount of petrol compared
to a long trip where the engine gets warm.
If such people are now walking then the decrease in fuel consumption and
purchase thereof will be more marked than in a rural area or small town.

I take your point and it would be interesting to see what areas have seen
the biggest drops. However, when I lived in London, it was nearly always
more convenient to use public transport than to drive and that was in the
days when you could park almost anywhere.
