3's unlock (and s/w modding) policy
What is 3's policy for unlocking handsets when min contract is up?

And does it hack it's phone s/w - I read an old post that some 3
phones have had menus trashed so that network selection to another
operator is impossible.

TIA

When I got rid of my e61 I ended up paying £15 to have it unlocked and
once that was done I changed the model number to a generic flavour e61
using a piece of software and then Nokia's software update tool gave
it the latest generic software which meant all options and menus were
the same as any other e61.

So how locked-down were 3's E61 menus? I don't want to get into
re-flashing a phone (which would probably be a 6120c).

Dunno, 3 were such a shit network that I hardly used the handset.
