Tesco Broadband problems
Hi
Anyone else having probs with Tesco Broadband
I couldn't get online yesterday and half of today
This happens to me quite regularly every 10 to 14 days
Email says server is not responding and Firefox just displays a blank
screen. I'm thinking of jumping ship

No my Tesco.net perfect as usual.
I will be moving but only due to them only operating up to a speed of 2mb.
and charging £25 mth.
Their reliability and service is ok.

Yes, but what is your modem/router saying?
Is there an LED flashing, indicating it has lost sync during these periods?

Now you mention it I think a LED did some flashing
What does that mean?
I'm using a Netgear DG834G

Especially as they are:
1.Run by Virgin Media ('nuff said)
2. Expensive
3. Don't do "up to 8 Meg" ADSL Max
4. Keep your credit card details for at least 4 years after you made an
enquiry (and didn't take up service with them) thus breaching the Data
Protection Act - as they did with me!

SAY NO MORE !

Ridiculously so. £24.99 will get you 30GB monthly downloads with Idnet aith
NO restrictions, traffic shaping, you name it whatever.
http://www.idnet.net/solutions/homeofficebroadband.jsp
I'm on the £17.99 one btw and it suits me fine. I've occasionally slipped
over the 5 GB limit by a tad but they never charged me for it !

NO ???? !!!!!! That's absurd. I get 8M sync no trouble

Slimy toads.
I will of course recommend Idnet as ever. Best UK ISP IMHO (except perhaps
for some specialist smaller operators ).
And a FREEphone number plus you speak to a BRITISH person who knows what
they're talking about ! Isn't that refreshing ? Plus they seem to have a
'hotline' to BT to get stuff fixed in hours instead of months.
Email me on the addy in my headers if you fancy Idnet (they are REALLY good)
and with a referral we both get a tenner in return.
Since it's just a ONE month contract with free migration what have you to
lose ?

Indeed, I shake my head in disbelief whenever I go through Tescos
checkout past their Broadband deals.
How can such a successful Co as Tesco offer such shit broadband??
For years Virgin and Tesco were both hosted on NTLs servers,
yet only NTL and Virgin ADSL offered Max!
