I have just been playing with my C475IP seeing if I can write my computer's phone directory to the DECT handsets. Although I can write .vcf file which various applications on my computer seem to understand the C475IP doesn't really seem to want to know. Does it have a very restricted version of Vcard that it understands or what? Also is there a simple way to send the directory to all four handsets or do I have to do it one by one? -- Chris Green

I tried both (KAddressBook gives you the choice when you export), neither did much good. I just tried again and it decided to transfer 6 out of 24 entries in the file. Taking a look at the file itself it seems to have transferred just the *first* six entries in the file. I've deleted the 7th entry and now it transfers the first eight entries, I can't see anything significantly different about the entries where it appears to stop. It's more as if the transfer is too fast for the phone system to cope with. -- Chris Green

Yes you have to upload to them one at a time :-( Best way to find out what it likes for vcf is to *export* one :-) There are not many tags that it likes. Also note you can't export a lot of the stuff that would *appear* to be in the directory - Speed dial, VIP etc. :-( -- Regards Dave Saville NB Remove nospam. for good email address
