I have 4 BT Diverse 6210 handsets and three base stations (although only one base is in use). The phones work perfectly with the major exception that they will not transfer external calls between handsets. I have spoken to BT tech help who have suggested - a soft reset (removing batteries and unpowering the base station) - de-registering the handsets and then registering them anew - (I have tried this twice and changed base stations as well). That is as far as BT tech seem to be able to go (they are outsourced and appear to have limited technical knowledge). It would seem to me that there is some kind of software glitch as new and old handsets/base stations are all affected in the same way. What has been happening is that initially when pressing the 'int' button to select a handset nothing at all happens i.e. it does not give the handset listing. After de-registering and re-registering and changing base stations the "int" button produced a listing of handsets but as soon as I go to choose a handset the external line is dropped. So I am wondering whether antone might have any ideas or suggest any sources of help.

I have located the problem. After a lot of plugging and unplugging I found that the Diverse 6210 handsets were working fine. The problem was caused by the phone answering machine (BT Response 75 circa 2000) which for some reason caused the external line to drop when trying to xfer call on the Diverse handsets. I do not know the reason why. It is not a problem of REM overload the total REM is below the notional limit. The answering machine has worked with DECT phones quite happily for the last eight years or so. If anyone has any thoughts I would be grateful. However I will be getting a new compatible answer machine to replace the Response 75.
