PN2 Rebate numbers
I want to set up some 070 follow me numbers which can provide some extra
revenue and I am seeking the best deal. Can anyone suggest a supplier ?
Currently I have been offered a plan with PN2 no's providing rebate of
25p/min .

Who offered that? Revenue share on 070 numbers with end users was banned
several years ago.

You want to rip people off by making them ring overpriced premium
numbers..? Don't think you'll find much support for that idea here.

I totally agree with you Ivor, TBH I think 070 numbers should be
banned along with 0870, 0845 ect and of course 090 but I doubt if
they ever will be :(
Gone are the days of the weather service on 980xx
I understand from the last telecoms "shake-up" (big number day?) that
all "toll free" numbers should all start with 08, why are there still
loads of 0500 numbers about. Why? OFCOMS got no B***s.
Cheers,
Ken.

I don't have a problem with 0500 numbers, they're free, after all ;-) The
only ones left I think are the long-serving ones used by such
organisations as the BBC (0500 288291 for Radio 2 phone-ins) and they
probably have a lot of clout..!
I wouldn't have a problem with any non-geo numbers as long as they were
charged the same as geo ones and included in mobile calling plans.

This gets hashed over all the time. The problem is that the more
expensive non-geo numbers are actualy a very efficient way of handling
micropayments, using existing systems.
When you can come up with a method of remotely paying, say 50p,
without £3 in costs (to take a random example) then the premium rate
numbers will have outlasted their usefullness.
Regards,
Harry.

Assuming that the payments are justified.

That's all very well, but what if I dispute the payment..? How do I get my
money back..? If it's an invoice or even a direct debit, I can withhold
payment if I feel it's justified. Once they've had the money from a ripoff
phone call, it's a major excercise to reclaim it.
