Alas I am unable to prove that I am not dead. I merely think I am not
dead and so claim it to be so. I agree this may be an incorrect
assumption on my part. Indeed it may be that I have never, in fact, been
alive and the sensations that I think I experience, which give me the
impression of life, may be erroneous.

This month would have been my 33rd if I'd married the right person.
Fortunately I only wasted 17 years of my time (and ended up with two
great kids - that's human children - in the bargain), so it could have
been worse.

Yes, and I'm so sorry for your loss. There are some losses we never
really get over, but just learn to cope with.

I've often tried to persuade Rose that a couple of extra wives would
make life easier. But women seem to have this funny idea that one wife
is all a man should have at one time. Can't understand the logic
myself - but then, that's women for you.

Ah Bob, you must be doing summat wrong. I've had loads of wives. Two of
them were mine. (but none were yours :-( )

But now I'm old and can only manage two or three at a time.
I'm content with the current arrangement of:
one living in and one living out

Appreciated, Stu, I have been "living for two" for 13 years now, but
it's getting too exhausting for me. ;-)

Fine, thanks, Sue is on en route for a holiday in Thailand with Steve;
they should be in the air as I write...
They took a scuba course a few months ago, so will be exploring the
seas, I expect.
Christine has sold about $600 of her paintings, but says that just about
covers the cost of her hobby.

Graham in Oz is trying to build up the business before selling, and
wants to go into the teaching side of chef-ery. The hours are better.
:)

A few days ago I was glancing through some photos of one of our visits,
where you joined us at Chris and Colin's place.
I had to recover them from backup after my No1 PC died, and I couldn't
even reinstall XP. Fortunately I have this old machine which has a
history of Windows ME, W98, and now XP. ;-)

I bought a new desktop and also a laptop, and when I get the confidence
I'll set them up as a Wireless network, I'm not happy with teh security
of this modem router.

AH now that is a bit of a problem.

Jean (she who lives without) only has a mobile phone.

I've offered to have a land line installed at her place and pay for it
but she says no! I can not get her to understand that doing that would
be cheaper for me than calling her on the mobile as calls to a land line
are free.

Still, it's not her financial skills that I love her for.

I don't get free calls to mobiles, nor to certain special numbers, but
for national and local calls it enables me to contact folk more
frequently. (To Sue's dismay).

Got a txt to say they arrived ok in Bangkok, it's hot, and she has her
mother's ankles, ie swollen like balloons. :-(

From Around the World in 80 days, when they were in Utah and spoke with
a Mormon:

"When the Mormon had recovered his breath, Passepartout ventured to ask
him politely how many wives he had; for, from the manner in which he
had decamped, it might be thought that he had twenty at least.

"'One, sir,' replied the Mormon, raising his arms heavenward --'one,
and that was enough!'"
