Well, it's just a TV show.  The creators, production people and the
actresses who portray these characters have latched onto a good thing
that probably will secure their financial futures for life.

What is scary is that the women (and it is very close to 100% women)
who take this fantasy TV show seriously will pick a character and try
to live their life as Carrie... Miranda... or whomever.

When the show was going great guns on HBO, I used to see these wannabe
Sex and the City young women in the conservative sales office where I
worked.   They would dress in super-sexy, totally inappropriate
revealing outfits that showed legs and midrifts and would completely
tick off the older, more experienced women who occupied the
more-senior positions.

The men in this office, if they had any brains at all best avoided
these creatures, lest they be accused of sexual harassment (if they
didn't want the attention) unless the man was considered "cute" or "a
good catch".

Again, it's just a TV show.  Somehow, however,  it functions as a
release for confused, sexually uptight young women who aspire to
living a fantasy high-end consumer lifestyle, and spewing out their
flip comments about men, their sexual endowments, and their
uselessness, in general.
