Update Update Update
I think I mentioned earlier that I recently broke up with the woman I'd
been dating for almost three years. In the beginning it seemed like a
very good match, but over time it became less and less good. And at
some time over the last eight or ten months my thoughts of a long term
relationship evaporated. Though I'd given her a tremendous amount of
support in her hour (actually more like several months) of severe need,
when it was my turn to need a little help, understanding and compassion
she was either unable or unwilling to help me out. Talking about it
for several months, including in couples counseling, only made it more
and more clear to me that it would not work.

It's usual for me to go a year or two after a breakup before I can get
back into another relationship, for whatever reason. But I was
surprised to find someone who may be exactly the person for me. I've
known her for several months, but we only became involved fairly
recently. She originally consulted me professionally (my professional
services, not hers - no snickers, please!) and right away I recognized
something different (in a good way) about her.

Anyway, right now I'm very happy, and wanted to share that with all of
you. I'm looking forward to the time (hopefully not too far in the
future) when I'm back on my financial feet and can bring her to the UK
for a visit.

Glad to hear the news, Stu! Usual caveats about being "on the
bounce" from previous relationships, but you've been around long enough
to know about that...
It would be nice to meet up with you (both).

My whole family will be together for Xmas this year, two days in a hotel
where Mavis and I are members of the leisure club, including Xmas Eve
carvery and Xmas dinner, then they stay at mine or Sue's for a week or
so.
It is the first complete get-together for nine years, last time was in
San Fran at Xmas 1998, I think we met you and Julie and her daughter for
the first time?

Graham, Cathy and the two girls will be over from Cairns, the first time
I have seen my granddaughters!

That sounds great! With a family as widespread as yours it's hard to
get everyone together all at one time, so that's good news.

That's my recollection, too. Was it that long ago? Time sure flies.
Does anyone know what ever happened to Julie?

That's even better news! With all of them travelling I'm surprised
they didn't get everyone to go to Australia instead.

Have a great time! I'll be sorry to miss it.

Thanks, Michèle. You'll be even happier to hear that she speaks
French. I'll be looking forward to introducing her to you and Denis as
well.

I'm really happy for you Stu. It makes a welcome change for a genuine
guy to get the girl. I hope it turns out to be brilliant for both of
you.

There must be summat in the water, 'cos last week I met the most
gorgeous person after we'd been exchanging mails, phonecalls etc. for
some months. Anyway, after a time (or a few times anyway) we decided we
were both crazy about each other and spent the weekend together.

We have spent this week apart but acting like teenagers re texting etc.

Hope you two are having as great a time as us. I wish you well.

Congratulations. I hope things work out well for you this time.

Do not show her that certificate you have which states that you are
sane!

You mean the one with the words "Dog Licence" crossed out and "Sanitie
Certifikate" written in in blue crayon?

I read that as "tits" and took your advice...it was great fun.
