Ye gods, we're being spammed by primary-school kids now.

I shall go online and vote for all the others, and give theirs zero.

Yeah, but they're kids. When young kids take initiative like this I
think it's a good thing. On the other hand when they spam it's a bad
thing.

I'd call it a wash.

I can't help wondering if there's some Fagin-like parent/teacher behind
this; how many primary-school kids have even heard of usenet?

I'm not convinced it's the kids showing initiative, or if it's a parent or
teacher trying to work the system.

Initiative is not an unmixed blessing- the kids who used to steal my lunch
money were showing "initiative".

True, and kudos for the apology.

However- don't do it. Spamming newsgroups is not a smart thing to do,
however good the cause. Especially if you're a young girl- there are some
dodgy people out there (not just grumpy like me).

I confess to being intrigued; I'm surprised by anyone under 30 that's even
heard of newsgroups.

Adults can be real grouches - especially when, for example, this group
gets so many people just popping in briefly to sell something and then
go away never to be heard from again.

> sorry again

One "sorry" is sufficient. The fact that you cared enough to come back
again does a lot to ameliorate the situation.

Yeah, all you have to know is "google groups," some of which are not
