Cricket and Sir Ian
Ian Botham at Lords just said (words more or less correct):
"The sun's out and it's heating up. Hope that doesn't trigger
thunderstorms. It's very humid".
I have previously heard Ian make some of the better and more informed
comments about cricket weather and has avoided drawing the all-too-
often erroneous conclusion that the clouds "are high so it's unlikely
to rain".
Well done Sir Ian.

Personal opinion that. His commentaries are on a par with the best -
unlike some others who are simply boring old f*rts.

And some are boring young f*rts. I think Nick Knight realises it at times
and so his voice gradually fades away in embarrassment when he's off on one
of his rambles.
I usually like Michael Holding's comments but the other day he wondered why
Foster was standing up to the wicket for one Essex medium-pacer but not the
other. I e-mailed Sky to suggest the reason might be that one of the
medium-pacers, Napier, was bowling at 90 mph.

............. and should be in the 20/20 England team when you add his
batting to that.

I think he has improved a lot lately. He used to come accross as arrogant
and implied that it was all better in his day. Seems to have mellowed
somewhat.

Given the speed at which Holding himself bowled, maybe he views 90 mph
as medium pace. :)

Of course personal opinion but I feel Atherton and Hussain are streets
ahead (more intelligent for starters). Botham has a history of
contradicting himself. On the plus side, he's better than Bob Willis!

Name someone who isn't better than Willis. I flinch every time he speaks.
