Widespread flooding reported across Ireland today. Reports from the AA Roadwatch sight http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/ tell of delays on many major roads due to flooding. Additionally there was an incident on the Dublin to Cork railway line where the train hit a tree that had fallen due to a landslide. No casualities reported thankfully but travel is disrupted. http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/0816/train.html It's chucking it down here in Dublin with reports of the odd flash of lightning although I've yet to see any. Wind has picked up too. It is a truly, wretched day out there...thankfully the footie-season is back on!!! Now where did I leave the TV remote... Joe
