Evidence of some heavy rain in parts of Reading yesterday, during the late 
afternoon and early evening. West Reading, Tilehurst and the town centre in 
particular. Travelling back along M4 from the west, I saw lightning to the 
East at 1645Z and there were Cu Con/Cb over and to the E and NE of Reading. 
Here in Southcote, only 1.5mm rain read at 1800Z.

Further showers or longer spells of rain overnight from around 0200 until 
0730Z, giving 4.2mm.
