No Rain forecast in Leeds but:
After watching the BBC local forecasts for the coming week/weekend, upto
Thursday evening there was no rain forecast at all upto and including
Sunday. Even the BBC local weather page said it was going to be fine and
dry all weekend.
Last night, all at once, there was light scattered showers forecast for
Saturday, and dry for Sunday according to the local forecast.
I woke up this morning to persistent rain for about an hour and half,
then after a short dry spell, more light rainfall. It is also looking
decidedly gloomy outside, so no sign of any further bright spells yet!

I just looked on the BBC local weather site again earlier, and it was
still saying dry and bright for today!, but then in the last 5 minutes
it was changed to light rain!!

So with all the latest technology, are the weathermen reduced to just 24
hour forecasts now, to get it right that is??

Same here.
Up until yesterday it was going to be dry with some someshine over
the weekend, though not particulary warm with a chilly wind.
Then yesterday evening there were predicting showes and light rain.
Where on earth did *that* come from, I wondered?

There was light rain overninght and early this morning and even
a few spots later on, nothing of any real significance but it was quite
a turnaround from the original forecasts.

And there was me confidently predicting to work colleagues on
Friday that it would be a *dry* weekend!

Tomorrow still looks good, however....
