A pain in the backside!
I'm having trouble with wind, the sort that emanates from the anus, and it
is becoming a real pain in the backside.

What can I do to either stop it, or at least reduce it?

Suggestions:

  · Try to reduce the amount of the carbohydrates that cause
flatulence. You might have to experiment in order to
    find out which.

  · Try to adjust your intestinal microflora. Less than two
weeks consumption of e.g. 100 mL Danone Actimel [¹] should
    do it.

Cheers,
Klaus

Thanks for that, the only problem is, and I hope you will not tell anyone
this, I have no idea what carbohydrates are!

I needn't tell anyone, you have already potentially shared your secret
with the entire Usenet community. ;)

Foods that are high in carbohydrates include breads, pastas, beans,
potatoes, bran, rice and cereals.

Generally you could say that food stuffs derived from plants (be it
the leaves, roots, flowers or fruits/seeds) contains [some] carbs,
whereas animalia usually contains little or no carbs.

Well, perhaps your problem is less urgent than you think.
