Security Light
FFS the first proper clear night in ages, and it seems the guy out the
back has decided to install a security light. Which blazed all night. In
fact, it is still on now.
I'll be popping round later for a word. Politely of course, it *could*
be an oversight.

It's actually illegal under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act
2005 which amended the Environmental Protection Act 1990
<http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/localenv/nuisance/light/index.htm>.
So if a polite word doesn't do the trick then talk to your council's
Environmental Health department and ask them to investigate and issue an
abatement notice.

It's also annoying when it keeps coming on for every cat and fox in the
neighbourhood. A pussy can't even take a dump in private these days.

Quiet word did the job :) I told him that it had been on all night,
maybe it was faulty ;) He asked if it was annoying and I said that it
was causing problems for my astronomy and he said he'd put it right,
which he did straight away! It was off that night; it was a clear night
too but unfortunately I had to be up at 4:30 to drive down to London so
I got an early night instead of getting the scope out...

I have moved into a new place which has a security light that could
illuminate the whole county. I see no reason why I should aid burgelers
make their escape when my dog gets on the case.
I have removed the bulb (couldnt find the switch). Show this to your
neighbour, I hope he sees it my way.
