Outburst of SS AUR - December 2007
Outburst of SS AUR - December 2007
Dwarf Novae are close binary systems with an accretion disc around the
white dwarf component. Outbursts from 2 to 9 magnitudes, lasting for a
day or two, occur at quasi-periodic intervals of days to years. Many
of these stars are ultraviolet and X-ray variable. Most UG's are
reclassified into the subspecies UGSS, UGSU and UGZ after further
study.
SS AUR is in the UGSS subspecies. This type increase in brightness by
2-6 mag in V in 1-2 days and in several subsequent days return to
their original brightnesses. The values of the cycle are in the range
10 days to several thousand days.

Nonsense. There are no close binary systems. You wouldn't know
a flare star from a cepheid.

Please supply the reference for a peer reviewed article that confirms
your viewpoint regarding the non-existence of close binary pairs.

Google for "Roche limit".

Google for "Roche limit". Observe break up of Shoemaker Levy.
Observe rings of Saturn, Jupiter ...
This pencil is broken, I can see it is.

Believe that and I'll try to believe you've seen a star that varies
intrinsically.

To my total lack of surprise you decline the challenge. Please supply
the reference for a peer reviewed article that confirms your viewpoint
regarding the non-existence of close binary pairs.

Do you wildly imagine Roche's work is not peer reviewed?
Peer review counts for nothing anyway, Nature is not a democracy
to be voted on.
To my total lack of surprise you have done no investigation whatsoever
and are just another miserable non-thinking troll spouting the usual
crap from a text book. Eat shit, 10 billion flies can't be wrong.
Go play with your double stars and look at the pretty colours, little boy,
and take your imaginary close binaries that nobody has ever seen with you.

Every minute you waste arguing with Androcles, who doesn't understand
the first thing about modern physics and chooses not to learn, is a
minute you could have spent doing some fun and useful science!

Yes you are correct. Androcles will join the other "nutters" in my

Congratulations,
You've earned a permanent place in my killfile. I don't know why it took me
so long.
