Amington Junction Pictures (In The Sunshine).
I went for a little five mile amble through the Staffordshire
countryside this afternoon and took a few photos at the new Amington
Junction on the way.
It still seems to be a work in progress with only about half of the new
crossovers in use and still some OLE work needed. All the new LED
signals are up and running including the bang road fast lines ones,
although the bi-di is not yet commissioned. (It is supposed to be
finished in time for the start of the VHF timetable in December).
Anyway the pictures are on my Flickr photostream at -

This will get you to my photostream thumbnails.

Then click on the 'All Sizes' icon to get a full size picture (Most are

Interesting pictures, Bill. Thanks for posting.
You have a slip of the keyboard in the title of the "OHLE live" warning
notice - "Junctipn".
On the diagram, I was surprised to see limits of 75 on the TV Slows. I
thought the idea of the reversible working on the fasts was that for
maintenance purposes they could use (for example) the Down Slow and the Down
Fast (in reversible mode as an Up line) to produce a two-track railway - and
that for this reason the limit on the slows was going to be 110 or
thereabouts. Did I dream this?
There's a bit more on the TV4/Rugby progress in October's MR.
I know that mid-September was stated to be crunch time for decisions on the
December TT change. I've been away and haven't seen any comment. Do we take
it that TPTB are now satisfied that the project can be completed by December
without egg on face?
Regards
Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan.
I've corrected the typo and also uploaded another six pictures of the
area this morning.
The line speed limits on the new slow lines between Tamworth and
Lichfield are indeed 110 mph (125 dispensation for tilting trains).
Perhaps it is the intention to upgrade the slow lines between Nuneaton
and Tamworth as the work progresses.
There was plenty of equipment (including two road/rail diggers) in the
compound at Amington yesterday which I guess will be used during this
weekends two day block.
