Marble arch stop and search FRIDAY
coming off the tube at MA at 9am, approx five P.C's were stopping
some passengers with carriers bags in thier possesion
I spoke to one of the P.C's who said it was a "terrorist excercise"
Well I don't have a problem with that, considering things that have
occurred in Koln(Germany) today

Why were they stopping those coming off the tube, what sort of
terrorist do they expect would be leaving a tube station complete with
a bomb?

What exactly would it achieve?
Surely if someone had a bomb and was challenged, then chances are they'd
detonate it there and then?

Terrorists need to get to thier targets as well. :-)
It could have been a small part of a larger exercise, based around a
target somewhere near MA.

Indeed, as demonstrated in places like Iraq.

The original post quoted that it was a "terrorist exercise", not an
anti-terrorist excercise.
Facetiousnes aside, I think that's really what it is. Using fear to
alter the behaviour of a population, which is what the UK authorities
are doing.
