ECML Steam servicing near Huntingdon
Does anyone have local knowledge of how steam engines are serviced
just north of Huntingdon? For instance the steam trip tomorrow is
shown with arrival and departure times for Holme LC, but I assume it
doesn't water blocking the ECML for half an hour. On the southbound
up, it is shown as stopping in the Connington Loop, but that appears
to be on the down side. Is there access from the up line? As a final
question, where do the water tankers get access to the line and stand
to water the engine? Many thanks in advance,

John

Re: ECML Steam servicing near Huntingdon
The ECML is still quadruple as far as Holme (from where it is double-
track to Peterborough). The loco will almost certainly take water
whilst standing on the down slow line, so that northbound trains can
still pass on the down fast.
