(Closed) Bishopgate station - Google and Live maps
Just having a look at the site of the closed Bishopgate station
Reference :

using maps.google.com (NOT the Google maps program) and Microsoft's
maps.live.com.

Using the closest zoom possible (including Street View in
maps.live.com), on both systems there seems to be a preponderance of
pedestrian activity on the Brick Lane road overbridge.

I realise the photos were taken on different dates, and could be some
years old and some years apart, but ....

maps.live.com has a crowd seemingly centred directly over the railway
line, but also spread out along both approaches. Were they waiting for
something special?

maps.google.com appears to have more spread, but there still is a
concentrated collection towards the northern approaches .... an
outdoor market, perhaps?

If a man speaks in the forest, and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

You can't see the railway line from Brick Lane.

Yep. There's an awful flea market/jumble sale that takes place along
that stretch of Brick Lane where random ne'erdowells lay out possibly
stolen tat directly on the pavement (mainly broken electronics and old
clothes - nothing anyone would want to buy).

Though it's usually a pretty busy street anyway - I doubt many people
come specially for the market.

Hasn't there been a fairly ridiculous series of campaigns to rename various
LU stations in the area 'Brick Lane', (or even Banglatown!) which LU quickly
turned down?
