Up to 50 mm below top of rail normal working
Up to 100 mm above top of rail 5 mph
Deeper, or flood water is moving or mayhave dislodged ballast, only with
permission of the local manager after consulting infrastructure manager and
telling train operators.
These rules apply when diesel trains are operating on 3rd rail lines, but
reference must be made to company instructions before moving DC traction
units through floods.
