British Transport Films
Volume 8 of this excellent BFI series is due for release in mid August.
Entitled "Points and Aspects", it should be especially appealing to uk.r
readers.
Play.com are taking pre-orders

I'd kind of assumed that Volume 7 would be the last one, containing, as it
did, the last film made by BTF as a dedicated unit ('The Stone Carriers'),
along with a selection of 70s/80s stuff which felt like a mopping up
exercise.
I've enjoyed the series, but would have preferred them to have gone through
in chronological order, rather than the loose 'themes' which have been
adopted. Still, I suppose they weren't to know the material would be so
popular.

Why don't you advertise it to your friends on uk.transport as well?

I do not subscribe to uk.transport, therefore I am not aware that I have
any friends on there.

What's the problem with alerting people to the availability of this excellent
series?
Based on the content of some of his articles here, I suspect barkingbill has
a lot more 'friends' (in as much as that word can be used on USENET) here
than in uk.transport

Robertson is trying to be clever, but failing miserably. I assume
that he mistook "barkingbill" for "BrianW", as I am usually the
recipient of Mr Begg-Robertson's "wit" in this regard.
Start the boozing early yesterday, did we, Mr Robertson?
