OT: Save the planet - leave the car at home - travel by train. Not.
Yours for £1,000: a return ticket to the Kyle of Lochalsh....
...with an extra £43 for a sleeper.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/yours-for-1631000-a-caribbean-cruise-or-a-return-ticket-to-the-kyle-of-lochalsh-1814184.html
...though a Saver Return booked in advance is 'only' £561.
You couldn't make it up.

Yesterday, when I heard this, my immediate thoughts were "For £1000, you
could buy a car, tax and insure it, and fill it with enough petrol to
make the return trip - and still have enough change to take a pretty
lady out to the theatre and a slap-up meal afterwards".
