An interesting observation Gareth.
Those with Aspergers display a range of behaviours, including a tendency to
being verbose (some might say ranting) and a inability to appreciate the
nuances of language most people use and accept. However, both of those have
other explanations- a lack of security and just being intolerant for
example. It isn't unknown for youngsters who are just "under achieving" or
don't behave to be labeled as having some SEN related syndrome (Asperpers is
one of the Autistic Spectrum syndromes)- some parents will "label" their
children to explain bad behaviour/under achievement and some people (inc.
adults) will seek to explain their own behaviours as "Asperpers" etc.
Whereas those who probably would be diagnosed as being "on the spectrum"
probably regard themselves as being the "only" "normal" people they know.
