I thought "gay" orientation was a prerequisite for advancement within
the upper echelons of the Met these days.

You can see Deputy Bender's point about those nasty heavy leather
belts though. I'm sure he and all gay cops would prefer to carry
their kit in handbags... Maybe do the handbags in a nice pansy
yellow.

Indeed. And look at the mess that's in. The whole damned thing is
crawling with gays, women and various forms of tribal-chief.
