Japan totally (ot)
I've got to go to Japan shortly. Typical, my passport has run out, so second
mortgage on the house for that.

Does anyone know if I will require a Visa?

De nada. I hate people who simply reply with 'Google is your friend'. I
always like to give the impression that I actually care, and have
bothered to do at least a little research on the question.

If the truth be known, I wouldn't mind staying out there. Crime is virtually
unheard of. You can leave your wallet in a bar all day, come back in the
evening and it will be untouched. The streets are spotless. Getting a
permanent residency out there, is all but impossible. The Japanese, don't
let the dross of the world roll into their country and sign on.

Google is your friend if it's a question that's been asked endlessly before
on that group

In this case, it hasn't

Hang on for a few mins and I'll see if I can whip up enough support to

Funnily enought this is true - only Japanese Visa works. You have to find an
"international ATM" machine if you want to get any cash out with an
european/US visa debit/credit card. Last time I was in Tokyo I had to get
the train out to the Narita a couple of times to get some cash.
