Multi-band Vertical Antenna.
I believe there was some discussion here recently about a
multi-band vertical antenna for both reception and
transmission in the amateur bands. I could not participate
because I was having ISP troubles at the time.

I had developed a top-load mag-mount mobile antenna
for use in a stationary location (i.e. parking lot), using clip-in coils
which worked much dx (equivqlent of WAC twice) over the years
from 10, 12 15, 17, 20, 30, and 40 meters. 80 meters was ok for locals.

I have offered details of this antenna before, and the only interest that
it aroused was from know-it-all hams who never built one but spent
loads of time on the internet proving that it could not possibly work.

I am now advanced in age, and do not drive any more, so I can't use it
but I have a couple of data sheets I can e-mail to genuinely interested
parties and provide back-up support.

Hi Jimbo. It ain't no scam and I am not Nigerian... I am
Anglo-Saxon.
My best dx was not on 40, but on 17, 15, 12 & 10. I started with 100 watts
CW, cut it down to 50... a lot easier on the battery. I'm not selling
anything, just telling you that a 5-foot antenna on a mag-mount, fed with
a half-wave coax at the freq of operation, surmounted with a small
loading coil and a capacitor "hat" in a VERTICAL plane (NOT HORIZONTAL)
will do a splendid job. It is even simpler if an antenna tuner unit is
employed, eliminating the need for various coax connectors.
As I indicated earlier, dyed-in-the-wool ARRL types descended on
me
"en masse" (that's French, y'know !!) for such heresy, but nobody said
"BOO !!" at our local (Vancouver) radio club when I dumped about
15 pounds weight of QSL cards on the table, including some mobile-
to-mobile contacts with Japan. Look me up in the International
Ham Registry if you like.
                                                   73 for now. VE7AFN.
