With your claimed technical background, it is disgraceful that you took
out a licence targeted at 6-year-old children and have boasted that you
intend to stay at that level.

That licence is compulsory as I've stated earlier. I have since
progressed to a full licence.

There is no compulsion to take out a licence under the gangrenous
degeneration that is the M3/CB Fools' Licence scheme.

If, as you say, you have moved on then your habit of gratuitous
rudeness would seem to lend weight to the adage, "Once an M3,
always an M3"

You take the M3/CB Fools' exam, followed by the Idiots' exam
and then the Retards' exam.

Then, and only then, do you take out a licence

There is no compulsion to take out a licence under the gangrenous
degeneration that is the M3/CB Fools' Licence scheme.

Licences come at the end of a qualification exercise and not at
the beginning.

Not only do you display your ignorance about the difference between
an exam and a licence, you continue to utter gratuitous rude remarks
thus adding weight to the adage, "Once an M3, always an M3".

And the Foundation Course is a Qualification Exercise.

To quote Ofcomm..."A licence is an authority granted by Ofcom
authorising a named person (or persons) to install or use radio
equipment in a clearly defined way.

The foundation licence parameters are listed on page 9 of the
handbook.

Gareth is perfectly correct; just because you pass an exam does not mean
that you automatically get a licence. You may be qualified to apply for a
licence but that is totally different to actually being granted one.

The Interface Requirement that you cite is totally irrelevant, since it only
relates to actual licence holders.

You may pass as many exams as you like, but you will not get a licence until
you actually apply for one, (or not). It is perfectly possible to pass all 3
exams in quick succession and only then apply for a Full Licence, and so you
will have never been a foundation or intermediate licence holder.

I organise sessions for those wishing to do exactly what Jeff mentions. I

I wonder how long those Python quotes will live on?

Some friends of ours in the USA have daughters we weren't born until years
after the Python phase, However, they excel in using phrases from the Python
programmes and films.

I was never that keen on Python myself.

Monty Python is engraved on many peoples memory as it was incredibly funny
humour for it's day. I must admit to not being a 'fan' as such but remember
many memorable quotes...

..All I did was say to my wife, "That piece of halibut was good enough for
Jehovah!" ..
..Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly!..

Now I know I am going to regret this but what is a NSY?

When was it current on the TV? I think when I was at Grammar school, so
late 60s to mid 70s. Some sketches just seemed silly to me.

I preferred "The Goodies" and, these days, my preferred humour is programmes
like The News Quiz, Just a Minute etc. Must be a sign of getting old.

Senior Management went to see "Spam Alot" and enjoyed it, although she isn't
a Python fan. Being the member of the audience they drag up onto the stage
for the finale wasn't something she expected!

That was the whole point Brian.. (rolls eyes). 5th October 1969 was when it
began on TV. A total of 45 episodes were made over four series up until
1974. After that came the films. More info can be found at Wikipedia.com

It's the latest ruse of the drama queen, M3OSN, to seek to be
the centre of attention.

I was only 7 and had no interest at the time. I see where you were coming
from with the air show though...

Why not have just one paper that includes all the relevant questions?
About half of the people who did the old RAE under the old C&G scheme
already had the education and experience as a shortwave listener and
constructor to pass.

1969, Falmouth, Wednesday nights. Take the washing to the
launderette next to the Killigrew Arms, stoke up the washer then
next door for 8.00pm (IIRC), settle down with a pint and by the time
Python was over it was time to put the washing in the drier and then
back for another pint. Doing the washing was never sweeter!

Happy, hippy, days!

Charlie.
