Aaaaaah!!! What a shame! They won't work on Linux machines, then.

The solution is simple ... change to Windows.

Ditto here, not an issue. The issue is all the crapflash (tm),
trouble is I don't think a petition will stop it but a Firefox plug-in
might :)

Really? So how come in Firefox when I type in about:plugins it shows
"Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124"? Flash websites work fine here on my linux box.

You really need to get up-to-date on linux Walt as it does a lot more
things than you seem to think it does :)

Walt, although the above has been posted with a malicious claim to
have come from my previous IP address, the infantile poster behind
the childish remarks is the INCURABLE CBER, "Not Ham" Hull, G7KUJ.

Those with long memories will recall the INCURABLE CBER posting to
this NG trying to sell CB sets. Need I say more?

Well, of course we all know that G7s are the lowliest of all the Class
Bs. 90% of them are incurable CBers. (Is there such a thing as a
curable CBer? No - I thought not.)

My CB set is still in regular use .... as a PA system when playing the role
of the Station Master (AKA The Fart Controller) at
the miniature railway .... "The train now arriving a platforms 3,5 & 7
has come into the station sideways" (said with a peg on the nose, of
course!)

ISTR that two of the more voluble children who pollute this NG, M3OSN
and G4KFK, made gratuitous rude remarks about the PA speaker that I
purchased at Newbury a couple of years ago.

I have never used Ebay.

Yes. I also admit to owning a mobile phone and a landline
phone. All are facets of social communications unrelated
to the technical pursuit that is Radio Hammery or the
operating hobby of the CBer.

> Presumably, once upon a time before it
> was "fettled",

What is the preoccupation with a number of you infantile types
throwing the word, "fettled" at me? The only castings that I have
fettled were for a Stuart Turner V10 stationery engine and those were
fettled successfully.

You and the rest of those infantiles preoccupied with the slanging
of, "fettled" really ought to be growing up by now.

> and thus you were a CB-er?

Not at all. Someone who uses CB sets as a means of social
communications is not a CBer. CBers are brain-dead individuals
who play at radio, indulge themselves in gratuious insulting
outbursts, (are you a CBer perchance?), then possibly go
on to take out a licence issued under the gangrenous degeneration
that is the M3/CB licence scheme , possibly then "progressing" through
the Idiots' and Retards' stages to MOUSEY callsigns.

> Once a CB-er, always a CB-er. Eh?

In the case of the CBer, M3/CBer, Idiots' and Retards' stages, most
certainly.

However, you must speak for yourself there. In response to recent remarks
made by you, how many years was it between your passing of the RAE
and your passing of the 12WPM Morse test?

> (Feel free to post some reply about THE GREAT KIRBY etc. etc. etc.

I think in the light of your rather silly and infantile slurs above,
THE INFANTILE KIRBY might be more appropriate?

Yep. I have had three (27/81) CB sets. One mobile and a couple of
handheld sets. Long since gone, but I do have _TWO_ PMR446s !

I've no doubt you know its an old reference to an apparently
unsuccessful casting of yours which allegedly ended up in a waste
paper bin. That may or may not be true, I no longer remember the exact
detail, maybe an old thread from uk.model.engineering refers?

I firmly believe that the former Novice level was ideally positioned
as the first step into the hobby for those with a genuine interest,
yet at the same time it was challenging enough to keep the hoardes of
gangrenous degenerates out. My two sons entered the hobby through the
old Novice licence route, once of them progressed to a Full licence,
the other did not and is still a 2E1.

Why would anyone be interested in playing at CB radio operating, when
they own a much more versatile amateur radio licence? But I have used
CB as a means of point to point communication in connection with a
former interest of mine viz. that of marshalling at "comp safaris"
with the Anglian and Midlands Rover Owner's clubs.

I have never fettled an unsuccessful casting.

It does seem that you, M3OSN and Mrs.Nugatory all share the trait
of being so desperate to cause insult that you do not care about and
are reckless with the truth just so you have something to sneer about.
