...when, (boasting of) having been on usenet for years beforehand, he
seems not to have sought out the information that was there (I posted
a reference a little while back), and to have invented post-hoc
excuses such as "needed the space" (never mentioned before) and "it
had a preselector" (never mentioned before ANDimplying he didn't know
what to do with it).

It would seem that he neither understood the internals of his rig, or
was interested in finding out; a cheque-booker, indeed, and no example
to anyone.
