It wasn't my radio that didn't get operated due to ignorance, dipshit.

More abuse..... very telling indeed!

You were the one who said that tuning up preselectors and valved PA
systems was trivial, so I merely asked how you gained that experience.
Was it pirating on 27MHz or pirating on the amateur bands?

You've made a second leap of logic that is not justified by what was
said.

That is why you are a dipshit.

You appear to have left something out of your posting.

The OP, clearly applying the skills of a Radio Amateur, had
found and cleared the problem, as is shown in the posting below.

It merely goes to highlight the incompetence of one who couldn't tune
up a standard transceiver because "...vital tune-up pages missing from
manual!".

Many thanks to all of you who posted and e-mailed replies.

The cause of the crackly noise (on rechecking everything) was found to
be a double-fault on the mixer capacitor rotor-plate earthing
contacts.

There are two earthing fingers, one each side of the tuning shaft,
that rub on the side of the mounting for the rotor plates. One finger
(the lower one) wasn't making contact at all, but the cause of the
crackle was dirt on the upper contact (it looked clean and lubricated,
honest!). I interposed a thick piece of paper between the two, and
removed not very much gunge, but the problem has now gone away
completely.

Many thanks for your help.

Have a good New Year.

So, what you're saying is that it is OK for you to delay a project whilst
you seek further information but not for others?

Were you displaying "incompetence" when you were seeking further info?

You bang on about technical standards repeatedly.

I've never come across the definition of a "standard transceiver", so
perhaps you could set out the technical specification of such a standard
and cite where that standard may be viewed?

How many of these "standard transceivers" have you tuned up, and under
what licence authorising you to do so, or will you also demonstrate the
"incompetence" that you find in others because you've never been able
to tune up these "standard transceivers" either?

Perhaps it is all a "50+" smokescreen on your part in a pathetic attempt to
outdo
M3OSN with his "25+" smokescreen?

And yet more abuse..... you sound like a little kid!

Still avoiding the question of where you did your pirating, I see.... is
there something you're trying to hide?

When did you stop beating your wife?

Mrs.Nugatory! You've shut up like a clam in response to
my request for details of what is a "standard transceiver"
and how many of these "standard transceivers" you have
tuned up, and under the authority of which licences?

Losing your memory Spite? You've been told before I don't have a wife!
Senility must be a terrible affliction.

So, Spite, just answer the question (because you forgot to do that as
well), were/are you a 27MHz pirate or an amateur bands pirate?
