you disapprove.

Have a good weekend- I've a one devoted almost entirely to radio planned.

No one, it's only a newsgroup, i dont really dislike anyone who posts here,
everyones entitled to their opinion regardless of if i agree with that
opinion or not. No one's ever given me a particular reason to dislike them.

Perhaps i'm just to easy going or something?

I suspect that what you really mean it's Brians type, rather than the man
and the society his type of egalitarian pseudo-liberal has created?

I've had a taste of it this week, when i passed my CompTIA A+
final exam with a disappointing 73%, my class tutor congratulated me
for passing, and was taken aback when i asked him if i should take
the optional retake, he said no, a higher score would make no difference.

I would only have had to take a retest if I'd got much under 69%,

I was expecting a pass of a minimum of 75%, i personally wasn't happy
with less than 80% as it wasn't that hard an exam.

But of course failure in our society is no longer an option.

What the Brians of the world have archived in the name of liberalism,
and equality is to have stolen our right to the feeling of success

As Halle Berry (sp) calls herself black, shouldn't we all call ourselves
black? We did originate from Africa and other dark skinned regions. It's
just that we are higher up the evolution chain than our dark skinned

It's far from egalitarian. It's not even pseudo-liberal, but
simple-minded authoritarianism.

>

The last thing the OSNs of the world want to archive [sic] is equality:
he wants an army of unquestioning serfs, and (like all such people) the
only way he can get one is to find people even more stupid than he.
Hence his support of the FL and the RSCB monopoly.

What they've archived is a host of nasty little cliques with an
influence way beyond the worth of their mediocre minds. They're as
poisonous as the trades unions of the 1970s but as yet uncurbed.

It's only fair to add that he's far from being the only empire-builder
in the kingdom. The civil service and local government are usually
flagged as being particularly infested, but IMX large private-sector
businesses are just as bad: large organisations offer more opportunities
for parasitism.

Interesting idea, but i think it's simpler than that.
Egalitarian pseudo-liberals like Brian need to be loved, so they curry
favour with anyone they can, which is usually those they deny
but deep down feel are below them.

So what you are dealing with are people with Love dependency complexes

Tony Bliar epitomises the type.

So itś not worth the paper itś written on. Whatś new. You can
include your diploma with all the rest, the Aĺevels, the GCSE´s
and most of the degrees.

That's the point, if it has a realistic pass of say 80% or more
it would be worth something.

With a pass as low as 70% or less, it includes all the losers Brian
wants to be loved by, and worth a lot less to employers.

Curious use of "egalitarian". Many of this country's problems are
because of a reduction in opportunities from what was already a low
starting point. Pushing people down isn't egalitarianism, it's
oppression. Egalitarianism is (or should be IMO) about opportunities,
not guarantees.

It's largely down to politics again: rather than investing the money
they've taken from taxpayers on real education, politicians have wasted
it on administrative empires, wars, and lining their own pockets while
lowering education standards and promoting credentialism to create an
illusion of improvement. This isn't egalitarian either, it's just
corrupt, but there are still citizens who think that it doesn't really
matter because *British* politicians can't possibly be as bad as French/
Italian/ Kenyan/ whatever.

Semantics, eh? :-)

It should be, but in reality the attempts by pseudo-liberals to make people
equal only achieves at best catering to the lowest common denominator,
and the inadvertent wrecking of excellence.

Sometimes it's due to political corruption, but more often it's
simply the outcome of anyone with any power over others to try
and buy love from them by giving them what those in that position
of power think will get it.
e.g. Every appeasing policy Tony Bliar introduced said "Love me"

Whereas Gordos body language screams interpersonal alienation,
that's probably why he'll lose the next election, he has no idea how to
seduce

The real institutionalised political corruption in this country is with the
honours system, i.e. the PM wants a charge of criminal corruption to go away
they find a QC to Judge who started with an OBE, worked his way up to
a knighthood and is fishing next for a Peerage. Give him the case
and it goes away, next thing you know he's in the honours list.

The clever thing is in most countries buying a Judge is normally very
expensive.
Here they'll sell out for baubles

A rather curious fact:

(1) Whenever I express the view that standards in amateur radio
examinations, GCSEs and A-levels have fallen steadily over the past
20-30 years, resulting in any Tom, Dick or Brian being able to secure
a pass with minimal effort, there are howls of protest from all the
CBers, M3s and their apologists. They argue that all these
examinations (ticky-box or whatever) are just as challenging as they
ever were ... if not more so.

(2) On the other hand, when I disclosed that I had recently attained a
First Class Honours pass in a Business IT Degree Course at the
University of Gloucestershire, these same people all began to scoff
and declare that University degrees, nowadays, are so easy to obtain
that they are worth nothing ... and any Tom, Dick or Brian can get
one!

Funny world.

Not really, those who scoff under (1) are the same ones who do so under (2)
and probably don't have many, if any qualifications themselves.

At least one of the "scoffers" seems to have considerable trouble finding
anyone to employ him so, one assumes, he lacks the required qualifications.
