I know I'm not Ken, and I'm not an Atheist either although I post in an 
Atheist group. Nevertheless I fail to see how anyone can say that Atheism is 
just meaningless?. It appears that you may well be one of Dimwit's lot - OK 
that's your choice and your problem.

I'm a Pagan; so in a way I believe in god(s and goddesses) more than you do.

Atheism is far from meaningless: To be an Atheuist means that the person 
believes that there are no gods/is no god. ('Same re. goddess(es))

I find Atheists to be liberated and generally intellectual people who, 
despite their religious beliefs, or should I say lack of them, have an 
ingenius and realistic general perception of things. They have chosen to 
throw off the shackles of organised religion, as have I: The difference 
being that I am free of lies and fake morality via an enforced code but 
still beleive in a divinity/ies; whereas Atheists are also free of same lies 
and enforced code of fake morality but do not.

Our problem is with the so-called "Christian" troll known as Dave in Lake 
Villa; as well as many other trolling identities. If the best efforts of 
Christianity can only produce an uneducated mentally-subnormal fake and 
proven many-time liar trolling his weird version of the Christian message 
where it has been clearly indicated that he is not wanted as its 
representative; then that only goes to prove the fact that it isn't anything 
but a pack of lies and myths aimed at the unwary mentally unstable 
individual as a last hope of gaining some form of recognition as a "normal" 
human being.

If any of us ever want to convert then I am sure, if you leave your contact 
details, you'll be the first person we'll be in touch with and you'll get 
some brownie-points with your church. In the meantime, I think I speak for 
us all, in asking you to remove your subhuman "representative" from this 
group, with our thanks of course for his proving to us beyond a shadow of 
doubt that there is absolutely nothing to be gained from Christianity other 
than the terrifying prospect of becoming anything like he is.

We all gratefully give our thanks to you in lieu of your forthcoming 
co-operation in this matter.

No. That is a theist presumption as part of the theist paradigm. We're
people who aren't theist, so it's not part of our paradigm. 

At most it is a character like Zeus, Odin and all the others. Which
makes it a cultural belief not a thing that does or doesn't exist.

Most of the time it is an abstract logic exercise after somebody else
has raised the subject where it is inappropriate.

Occasionally it is the ravings of a madman, as when Bush said God told
him to smite Afghanistan and then Iraq, and when Blair consulted with
God before the invasion.

Atheism per se  is a non-event.

However we share plenty of issues, like relationships with believers,
how/whether to come out as atheist to family, friends, colleagues or
employer, treatment of atheists by believers in many countries, what
to do about creationism and fundamentalism, etc.

And fundamentalist theism has become more intrusive recently, not just
in the USA but also in the UK.

People react to that. Not just atheists although they tend to be more
outspoken. More moderate theists of the other religions and even
denominations.

Unfortunately there are plenty like him in his country, and the
Internet has given him a world wide audience.

So instead of being a village idiot with a neighbourhood audience, he
now has a potential audience of billions to annoy.

Just like all the other theist village idiots who set their "on-line
ministry", rub it in everybody else's faces and get indignat when told
where to shove it.

Although there are differing definitions - I found one in a US 
dictionary that listed "anti-christ" as one - it strictly means 
"without a belief in a god", not necessarily a belief that there is 
no god.

The majority of atheists are of the less assertive variety, in that their 
position is simply that they 'have no belief in g(G)od(s)'. Not the same thing 
at all.
