Millenium
For amusement and absolute wonder at the gullibility of some people, I've
watched on TV, a shyster who, between trying to sell books and cds etc.,
preaches that the second coming is imminent. He and his kind always say
that J is returning and will usher in a thousand years of peace etc., etc.,
and the "true" believers will be spending all that time praising and
genuflecting, ad nauseum.
Why only a thousand? If Big G is so powerful, why does he set a limit and
what will happen after that?

REPLY: If Jesus said it, you can believe it ; he said he was going
to return again and anything he said is 100% absolutely true since hes
already fulfilled over 450 narrow specific prophecies about him coming
the first time ; even the manner in which he would die (crucifixion)
was foretold 600 years before that manner of execution was invented.
If Jesus said it, you can believe it ---- and he is credible to
believe in because he predicted his own death /burial/and
ressurection ...then accomplished it and showed himself for 40 days
afterward to eye witnesses including those who killed him. All thats
required for you to avoid having eternal regret from wanting to be an
atheist is to put forth a miniscule of effort in looking into the
historical evidence. The book, 'I Dont Have Enough Faith to be an
Atheist' at www.impactapologetics.com not only contains all the
evidence one could ask for in order to believe in Jesus Christ...but
it accurately and alarmingly shows the enormous faith one must
continually have to be a self proclaimed atheist by embracing its
tenets,philosophies,and psuedo-science from a 19th century atheist
Patron Saint named Darwin (who publicly/profusively apologized for his
most notable work called Origin of the Species). So, how open is your
mind to really investigating the evidences behind the Christian Faith
that literally changed the world , and which strongly puts your
eternity in jeopardy ? Is this worth a little bit of open-
mindedness ? I should say so. Any previous atheist or agnostic whos
ever seriously examined the Christian Faith has become a
Believer...that is , if their pride didnt stand in the way. The ball
is in your Court ; but once the hour-glass of life has emptied
itself , you cant go back to do things differently. Regards.

Sadly, looking at the continued responses to Dave (even discussing
his spurious "Crick" issue which we know to be an erroneous
reference from his creationist site) I'd say that not everyone knows
the drill at all.

An almightium bug? After 999 years God resets to zero and goes haywire.
According to my 1969 Christadelphian pamphlet "World Destiny", the
Soviet Union was going to bring about Armageddon by invading Turkey and
Israel. This was, apparently, all foretold in bible prophecy. It was so
inconsiderate of those Atheistic Commie Bastards to go and spoil God's
plan like that, what?
Still, in the words of Peter Cook: "Same time tomorrow, then...?"

All the same, DILV's inanities have at least helped to encourage a bit
of debate at times on an otherwise quiet ng, and gone a long way to
demonstrate the unthinking stupidity of the fundamentalist standpoint.
In your face ripostes and vulgarities do at least as much damage.
Responding with a bit of dignity (or if that's your choice, not
responding at all) is the best way to show lurkers and waverers what
atheism is about. Otherwise you leave them with a firm impression that
it's the atheists who are assholes, rather than the religionists.
Follow Ian's example and the group will benefit in the long run.
